Kid's Club

Every Thursday, our church hosts an event called kid's Club.  It is when a lot of the local kids come over to our church and we teach them about the love of God . We play games, sing songs and pray .  I love to go and help out.  I like it because it is fun.  It really can be better to give than to receive. It is also fun to see the kids so happy and walk away with a big smile on their faces when they leave.  One day, a 9 year old kid asked me if I was rich. I said "no" so he asked " are you poor?", and I said "no" so he said, "what are you?''  I replide, " I am a child of God just like you."

Butterflies!

Did you know that there is over 1,000 different types of butterflies in El Salvador, about 350 in all of Europe and 600 different  types in the states?  Why do you think that is.....Let me tell you.  It is because El Salvador sits right next to the equator.

A Trip to the Indigo Farm

On Saturday, April 24, 2009 i went to a farm.  Not a regular animal, cow and chicken farm, but an indigo farm.  If you are wondering what a n indigo farm is I will tell you right now.  An indigo farm is where we get our blue dye for all of our t-shirts.  I got to go there and make a t-shirt myself, which i am wearing  as i write this blog.  My favorite part of the field trip was making the t-shirt.  I loved the last part when I got to see all the tie dye designs that were on my t-shirt.  However, when it came down to the long and painful process of dying the shirt, let's just say that part wasn't my favorite.   Why you ask?  Well, let me tell you....this was not  your regular put the shirt  in the dye and let it dry. No, no... thyat would be too simple.   It was put the shirt in the dye dye for one minute and then take the t-shirt out side for another minute because it was the oxygen that turned the green dye into a blue dye, then do that process all over again 6 times.  However,  when  I finished ALL the steps my t-shirt came out really cool.  It was worth it!

Water!!!!

As you all know clean water  is life's greatest need.   We use it to do many things.  But some times we take for granted  how much we have.   Some times we think water's natural habitat is a water faucet.   Actually, it is not that simple. Water is very hard to to get for some people.  My friend, Sean helped 500 people get clean water through 1 small hand pumped well.  One well will  help 500 people.  And one person can improve many people's way of living.  Also, it shows people that anything is possible with God.

Home school

After 2 and a half years of school in El Salvador we started home school.  My two sisters, brother and I.   At first it was hard because only my mom was teaching all of us, and we had no room to study in.   But,  my dad changed his house office into a room just for PJ and I to study in.  He then changed his room into a office/bed room.   Also, he helps teach once in a while.  Homeschooling has a down side and an up side.  The up side is that sometimes I get to do school at the beach, or at the pool or on the couch, but mostly in our school room.  Another up side is that i get to spend way more time with my family.  And depending on my attitude, i can get school done as fast as I want.  The downside is that i usually don't take the typical school holiday off.  I like home school because if the teacher is my mom, then she will know what I struggle with and she can help me.
